About the Children’s Literary Meet Line

The inaugural edition of the Children’s Literary Meet will be held on the 22nd and 23rd of January, 2017 in Kolkata at the Victoria Memorial Grounds and other venues. The Children’s Literary Meet will consist of a varied and exciting selection of creative events curated specifically for young audiences. Children and young adults aged six to eighteen will be able to participate in the diverse programme which includes interesting interactive sessions with popular authors, stimulating workshops on writing and illustration, dramatised story-telling, latest book readings and riveting performances.

Organised and curated by the Kolkata Literary Meet and ThinkArts, this special children's festival is steered by a passionate Advisory Board comprising avid readers and aspiring writers aged from twelve to eighteen. This team of sixty literary enthusiasts have worked together for several months to play a significant role in organising the inaugural Children’s Literary Meet - from ideating and devising events to promoting them across the city. The result of their efforts is a creative and engaging programme that, like its parent festival, will be held at the prestigious Victoria Memorial Hall and other venues in the city.
