Debnita Chakravarti

Dr Debnita Chakravarti is Associate Professor of English at Shri Shikshayatan College where she tries to get students who are reading to learn, to learn to read as well.  After Jadavpur she did her Ph.D. from the University of Reading. She was subsequently a Charles Wallace scholar with a visiting fellowship at the University of Southampton. She has taught at the erstwhile Presidency College, Calcutta University, and French to management students. Alongside presenting and publishing academic papers, she enjoys freelancing as a creative writer. Dr Chakravarti has hosted several literary events with Ian Rankin, Alexander McCall Smith, Ruskin Bond, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, AshwinSanghi, Amish Tripathy and Shashi Deshpande, among others.
