Eurig Salisbury
Eurig Salisbury is an author who writes books, gives lectures, plays football, tires quickly and is actually pronounced Eirig. Salisbury’s most recent book for children is The Bhabachyaka and Other Wild Poems, a collection of poetry in English co-authored with Sampurna Chattarji and illustrated by the Mukherjee twins. Eurig’s first collection of poetry for children in Welsh, Sgrwtsh!, was published in 2011, and a short novel, Teulu Tŷ Bach in 2018. He was Bardd Plant Cymru (Welsh children’s laureate) from 2011 to 2013. He won the Prose Medal at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 2016 with his first novel, Cai (Gomer), and published his first novel for young adults, Ifor Bach (Gomer), in 2019. Eurig’s second collection of poetry for adults was published in January 2020. He is a lecturer in the Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies at Aberystwyth University.
