Sharmistha Gooptu

She is a film historian with her Ph.D from the University of Chicago. She is the author of Bengali Cinema, An Other Nation (Routledge, 2010) and has curated Flashback, 175 Years of Entertainment for the Times of India (2013). She is editor of the journal South Asian History and Culture and the South Asian History and Culture books series. Her recent book is Menoka Has Hanged Herself (Simon and Schuster 2019).
