Anita Agnihotri
Anita Agnihotri is a Bengali writer and civil servant. As a child she wrote regularly for Sandesh, the children’s magazine edited by Satyajit Ray and Leela Majumdar. Agnihotri has authored 35 books spanning all genres of writing — poetry, creative prose, novels, children’s stories, essays and and travelogues, and her works have been translated to several Indian languages, besides English, German and Swedish. She has been awarded the Sarat Puruskar, Bangiya Sahitya Parishad Samman, Gajendra Mitra Memorial Award and the Bhuban Mohini Dasi Gold Medal by University of Calcutta. Forest Interludes, The Awakening, Seventeen, and Those Who Have Known Love are some of her notable works.
