Doyeeta Majumdar

Doyeeta Majumder completed her first two degrees from Jadavpur University and her PhD from the University of St Andrews. After teaching at the University of Edinburgh and then at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi, she is now Assistant Professor of English at Jadavpur University. Her monograph Tyranny and Usurpation: The New Prince and Lawmaking Violence in Early Modern England appeared from the University of Liverpool Press in 2019. She has translated Il Principe into Bengali (Jadavpur UP, 2012). Her research interests include Early Modern studies, political and juridical theory, and intellectual history.
